Expert Witness Work

This aspect of the practice’s workload encompasses the preparation of specialist reports in contemplation of civil court proceedings. Whether the client’s dispute is settled before a court case or ends up in court, we can provide the necessary building surveying expertise in consultation with the client’s legal team.

A significant proportion of this work is often associated with Landlord and Tenant disputes (usually terminal dilapidations cases).

Other smaller-scale expert witness work carried out by the practice, often associated with building defects or contractual disputes, can sometimes come in the form of a Single Joint Expert appointment. This is where a Judge orders an agreed building surveyor to act impartially for the benefit of the Court rather than in an adversarial role acting for one or other party.
